9. Values
What are your values?
In I.School, we will use the University of Texas at Austin’s definition of values as, “Individual beliefs that motivate people to act on way or another. They serve as a guide for human behavior.”
There are internal and external values. One can determine the extrinsic-external values through the actions of a society. Simply watch the news. And if you don’t like what you see on the news. Ask, how does that reflect your personal individual values? What motivates you? Your behavior. Does it reflect societies values? Okay. Level Nine explores the topic of values.
Suggested ways to test values- Can they be consistent? Available. Free. Non-injurious. Moral. High quality of functionality (beneficial). Intuitive, perhaps? Directive but not too specific.
